Tailed Jay Butterfly

From Southeast Asia, this Tailed Jay Butterfly looks so pretty with it’s almost lime green coloured wings. When it’s wings are closed, the outside of the wings are a teal colour with brown. A very interesting beauty in God’s Creation. Photograph taken at the Butterfly Conservatory in Cambridge, Ontario.

This pretty Tailed Jay Butterfly comes from Southeast Asia and was my most favourite when I went to the Butterfly Conservatory. And as you may recall from the March 27th photo of the day, when the wings are closed, they have a lovely teal colour. Certainly not the same beautiful, lime green colour they are when they are open. Such a nice surprise!

This pretty little butterfly comes from Southeast Asia and was my most favourite when I went to the Butterfly Conservatory yesterday. The contrast of the teal and brown of it’s wings with the gray of the boulder it was on, made for a lovely image. Believe it or not, when this beauty opens up it’s wings, they are an almost lime colour, not the teal that you see here when it’s wings are closed. Very cool! Stay tuned to see what they look like in a future photo of the day!

For the next number of days I will be posting photos that I took at the Butterfly Conservatory in Cambridge, Ontario. There were so many pretty butterflies, interesting creatures, and lovely scenery there that I must share some of the images with you. When they become available on products, I will post a sampling of them. Right now, just too many photos to know where to begin.
