This black and white vertical photo of a clarinet shows of the beauty of the woodwind instrument like a colour photo can’t. Shadowed just right and showing off the ebony wood. Perfect for anyone who loves black and white photos and clarinets.

I love taking photos of clouds, and the clouds in this photo are of no exception. Puffy and delightful, these clouds look like cotton pulled apart and was left floating in the sky.

This is by far my favourite shot of the hydro towers I took on this this particular day. It was taken standing directly underneath one of them and pointing the camera right up the centre. I really like how it has an almost three dimensional look to it.

On this day, I took several photographs of Hydro Towers. There is something so interesting about the intricate, yet simple structure of these towers. In this photo, it’s almost an abstract point of view of the tower as a cloudy sky with hints of blue hovers above it.

One of my favourite places to go is Toronto, and it you look up in the sky there, you will see this lovely piece of architecture – the CN Tower. Accented with a beautiful blue sky. Do you dare try the new “walk around the rim”? Not my cup of tea!

Even birds need a place to live. This lovely birdhouse looks so perfect back dropped with autumn trees that I had to take a photograph of it. Seeming to blend in with it’s surroundings, I almost missed it. I guess that was the point! I wonder if anyone is home.

Photo of the Day – Nowhere Road Graffiti

Nowhere Road Graffiti by Corinne Elizabeth Cowherd

Nowhere Road Graffiti by Corinne Elizabeth Cowherd

Have you every thought of graffiti as art? I will admit, some graffiti, I don’t. But this particular image stuck out to me while on a nature walk. Yes, a nature walk. I looked up to the bridge nearby and spray painted on the side of it, this graffiti stating “Nowhere Road”. I thought is had a profound statement and is a piece of art in itself. Yes, vandalism, but think of the person behind it expressing themselves in art. Or not. You decide.

This is the spire of Mohawk Chapel in Brantford, Ontario. This little chapel is a wonderful gem to go and visit covered with stained glass windows depicting various Mohawk stories and has stood the test of time. A beautiful structure that is back dropped by an amazingly blue sky the day that this photo was taken.

I took this photograph at Churchill Park in Cambridge, Ontario. Even though this watermill doesn’t run anymore, it’s still a pretty thing to look at. On this particular day the sky was just right with blue and with pretty, white, puffy clouds.

This photo was taken just outside of Camilla, Ontario and was a nice find as we were stopped at a stop light. I snapped this through the car window and hoped it would turn out, and we wouldn’t move while I was snapping the photo!

With a cute little stream babbling underneath, this lovely wooden bridge is a wonderful sight to behold. On the other side of the bridge, there are several ponds that were great for fishing for trout. Didn’t catch anything the day this photo was taken, though. But it was still a pretty spot to cast in the line.

This Canada Goose Feather was just too interesting a photograph to pass up not taking. It seems to have fallen just right in the grass, as if it wanted it’s photo to be taken. I really like the softness of it compared to the contrasting grass.

Swimming around happily, these white ducks seem to not have a care in the world, except if their picture is going to be taken again. Yes, these are the same silly ducks from a few days ago. This photo was taken after they had all waddled into the water. Are they posing?

This lovely bird, the Wood Thrush, shown here in its infant stage, was of a curiosity to me as they typically do not grace us with their presence in October, when this photograph was taken. They generally don’t appear until the Summer time here in South Western Ontario. A nice surprise, nonetheless!

Photo of the Day – Gouldian Finch

For the longest time, I had no idea what kind of bird this was so I was just calling it a tropical bird or a colourful bird. While indeed it is both of these, it is in fact a Gouldian Finch. It certainly is a very lovely coloured bird and seems to be posing for the camera. I took the particular photograph at the Butterfly Conservatory in Cambridge, Ontario an number of years ago.

Photo of the Day – Curious Swans

These Curious Swans have swam up close to the shore, wondering who the people are taking their photograph. Perhaps these people even have some food for them. And you guessed right, these are the same swans from yesterday’s photo of the the day. They were just so beautiful, I had to share the other photo I managed to get of them.

These lovely Swans were in a pond at the retirement village that my grandmother lived at. They were very curious, but also very shy. It was difficult to get photographs of them because of this, but they stopped long enough for me to snap a couple photos.

A funny photo of cute ducks, scrambling down a ramp, and practically tripping over each other to get to the nearby pond and away from the person taking their photo. My dad named these guys the Three Stooges because they looked so funny.

Photo of the Day – Easter Lily

He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many. —Isaiah 53:12

Today’s photo of the day is different. Different in the fact that it doesn’t have any products associated with it, at least not yet. And different in the fact that it is accompanied by a scripture verse. Let us remember that this Easter season is about Jesus death and resurrection and what He did for us on the cross. Let’s thank Him for what He has done and remember that the bunnies and chocolates and jelly beans come second to the true meaning of Easter!
