Talk about being in the right place at the right time! Heard this little guy peeping away and couldn’t figure out where he was at first as he blended in and was so tiny. Just happened to snap the photo as he hung upside down!

For the longest time, I had no idea what kind of bird this was so I was just calling it a tropical bird or a colourful bird. While indeed it is both of these, it is in fact a Gouldian Finch. It certainly is a very lovely coloured bird and seems to be posing for the camera. I took the particular photograph at the Butterfly Conservatory in Cambridge, Ontario an number of years ago.
